Snack Foods Healthier Than Previously Thought
Researchers Discover Surprising Amounts Of Antioxidants

Snack food isn't normally known for being healthy, but new research suggested whole grain snacks might provide the same amount of antioxidants as fruits and vegetables.

Researchers at the University of Scranton studied the amount of antioxidants in hot and cold cereals and snack food.

They found popcorn provided a significant amount of healthy antioxidants, more than the pasta, crackers and chips they tested.

Whole grain cereals were also a substantial source of antioxidants, with wheat cereals having the most, followed by corn, oats and rice cereals.
