Why Eat Raw Food? Plus two recipes: "meat"balls & apple cobbler

If you want to turn your refrigerator into a time machine, and transport your entire body back to a more youthful time, you can do it by stocking up on all the foods which make up the Raw Food diet. The Raw Food diet will boost your energy, lower your weight, and make you skin look more youthful than it has since, well, since you were young!

The Raw Foods diet will give you plenty of fiber, especially the cellulose fiber which is so helpful in weight-loss plans. It will clear and firm your skin, thanks to its abundant vitamins and minerals. And your long-term allergies and illnesses will be on the run, vanishing in as little as thirty days after you begin the Raw Foods diet. You’ll also be lessening your chances of developing cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and many other major health issues.

There are many reasons why the Raw Food diet’s proponents include Demi Moore, Alicia Silverstone, Donna Karan, and Uma Thurman. Try the fact that our bodies simply know how to absorb and metabolize all the nutrients in the Raw Foods diet, and raw foods are what kept our distant ancestors alive so that the human race could thrive. You might be surprised at what you will end up eating on the Raw Foods diet, and we’ve come up with a couple of recipes to give you a clearer picture:

Mock Meatballs

Two cups each of raw sunflower seeds and raw Brazil nuts, soaked for four hours and rinsed One medium onion Three cloves fresh garlic Three tbsps fresh rosemary Three tbsps fresh sage One tsp sea salt Two tbsps Nama Shoyu (organic soy sauce with no MSG)

Finely chop the Brazil nuts in a food processor, and set aside. Finely chop all remaining ingredients except sunflower seeds, and then add the sunflower seeds, processing until you have the consistency of a pate. Now blend in the Brazil nuts, and either form into “meatballs” which you can either allow to dry until they form a crust, or serve as a pate.

Apple Cobbler

Preheat oven to 120 F.

Three apples thinly sliced Three apples chopped Three cups pecans One-half cup pitted dates One cup raisins, soaked for two hours One tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice Two tbsps cinnamon One tbsp nutmeg One-half tbsp sea salt

Using your blender, blend the lemon juice, raisins, sea salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ONE of the chopped apples until they are smooth. Use this mixture as a sauce to coat the three sliced apples, and spread the mixture evenly on the bottom of a lasagna pan. Chop the pecans in a food processor, add the dates, and continue chopping until well mixed. Crumble the pecan/date mix over t he apples, and allow to dry in the oven for two to three hours. Serve while warm, and add freshly prepared coconut cream.

You can also eat this apple cobbler without drying it first, or prepare it using fruits other than apples.

Following the Raw Foods diet will probably introduce you to foods you have never eaten before, and open up an entire new world of tastes and textures. So why not give one of the above recipes a try, and treat your body to the anti aging benefits of the Raw Foods diet?
