Because of the fact that mankind has been misguided and became an eater of
flesh and a killer, he has lost much compassion and love. This loss of
compassion has led us into war, into cruelty, into not caring about animals,
in not caring about our fellow creatures. Merely living as vegetarians does
not automatically make us compassionate, but it is a long step in the right
direction.
